Super-harmonizers, Uncle Bonsai descends upon Tacoma’s newest and hippest new venue, Alma Mater on Saturday, November 17th at 8pm.  Known for copious amounts of intelligent lyrics, complex harmonies, and a roller coaster ride through the highs and lows of the human condition, the group performs songs that are almost one-act plays or short stories resisting strict pop, folk, or singer-songwriter categories.  Andrew Ratshin, Arni Adler and Patrice O’Neill are Uncle Bonsai.

Mining Childhood Memories for Stories
A free presentation and workshop by Wendy Wahman, sponsored by the Society of Children’s Book Writers & Illustrators (SCBWI https://www.scbwi.org/)
FREE

Oct. 27th, 2-4pm at Wheelock Library https://www.tacomalibrary.org/locations/8/
3722 N 26th St, Tacoma, WA 98407

Tom Robbins said, “It’s never too late to have a happy childhood.” Let’s see if he’s right. Wendy will lead us through a series of writing and drawing exercises to loosen memories and get our stories flowing. She can’t promise a happy childhood, but one would be hard pressed to leave the meeting without at least one new story idea. Bring paper and pencils for writing and illustrating exercises!

Wendy is an award winning editorial illustrator & children’s book author/illustrator. Her books include “Don’t Lick the Dog”, “A Cat Like That,” “Pony in the City,” and more.
