She is also a member of the Washington State Society of CPAs, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and the Accounting & Financial Women's Alliance where she is active in the Seattle chapter's tax roundtable. Valerie has taught with several business support organizations including WSCPAs financial literacy program, SBA's SCORE monthly Small Business Workshop, SBA's Emerging Leaders Program, Women Business Owners, and Artist Trust as well as at several industry groups such as The Writer's Co-Op, Seattle Yoga Arts, and the Seattle Composer's Alliance. Valerie also teaches continuing education to professional accounting organizations in the Puget Sound area. After working for several Seattle tax firms, she opened her own practice in 2010. Valerie has a background in the performing arts - she is the former Treasurer of the Board of several arts organizations - but these days you might be more likely to find her on the yoga mat or in the kickball field during her off hours.
