Gregor Tarjan, president of Aeroyacht, the multihull dealer and
broker based on Long Island, told me at Miami that the first
up-market Blubay 45 is nearing completion in South Africa. The
express weekender will make its debut at the Newport, Rhode Island,
show in September.

Tarjan says he will attempt to establish a record for the
New-York-to-Bermuda passage with the Blubay.

The Bermuda Challenge Trophy, for record setters in outboard-powered
boats 40 feet and under, is held by a Prowler 306 which took 22 hours
23 minutes to scorch the 690-nautical mile distance at an average
speed of 30.9 knots. The Prowler was powered by Honda BF225 4-stroke
outboard engines.
