Hi,
I was hoping you could share this event out...
This Saturday, March 27th at 10AM to 12PM Revenue for Housing Pierce Co
will be showing a local award winning homeless documentary, STORIES OF US:
CAMP SECOND CHANCE to be a vehicle of change in helping to address the
homeless crisis in Pierce County. Below are more details about the upcoming
virtual event.
EVENT DETAILS:
St. Leo’s Parish and the League of Women Voters are hosting a virtual film
and forum event with Pierce County community and council on Saturday, March
27th at 10AM. They will be screening my documentary, STORIES OF US: CSC.
Following my film there will be a panel discussion with audience
participation.
My documentary will provide the audience with intimate insight into some of
those who are experiencing homelessness. Showing that our brothers and
sisters in the homeless community come from all different kinds of
backgrounds and needs. After the documentary the panel will engage with
the audience about how the community can move toward increased housing and
shelter opportunities. There will be a breakout session so smaller-groups
can have more one-on-one dialogue with the community members that are
attending the event.
The panel will consist of:
- Representatives from the Pierce County Council - discussing how the
County may address the homelessness crisis in the next few years;
- The Coalition to End Homelessness - providing insight into the
homeless crisis in Pierce County;
- A representative of the Washington Low Income Housing Alliance -
addressing state policies related to prevention of homelessness and funding
of housing solutions;
- A special guest with lived experience of being homeless will share her
personal story.
