Visitors:
We thank Bob and Linda for spotting some nice birds on the tower today, as
well as all the members of the public who showed interest in our hawk
watch.
Weather:
We had beautiful weather today on the tower. it was clear and cloudless all
day and birds were easy to spot! hoping for more good (maybe cooler)
weather in the next week.
Raptor Observations:
We observed some exciting raptor species today including a Northern Harrier
and three adult male American Kestrels, one of which flew right over our
heads! We're very excited to see what's to visit in the coming weeks.
Non-raptor Observations:
The non-raptor observations were today's highlight. We saw 10 warbler
species including Cape May, Black-and-white and Yellow Warbler. we also saw
3 Red-headed Woodpeckers, two in full adult plumage and one juvenile.
Black-crowned Night Herons and seven Nighthawks were also highlights.
See our non-raptor list here: https://ebird.org/checklist/S117922818
Predictions:
Tomorrows weather should be as nice as today, hopefully we see some
early-morning Sharpies and more warblers!
