My wife and I headed to Boerne yesterday morning and, as we got to the
Side/Exit Gate, there was a Bexar County pickup parked right at the gate
and a Bexar County worker checking the gate out. We tripped the gate
opening and then chatted with him for a bit. Apparently, "someone" had
called Bexar County to report the gate being used on a regular basis by
our residents when it was, supposedly, an "emergency vehicles only"
gate. (I think the "someone" may have been the older gentleman standing
off to one side observing our interaction with the Bexar County
worker.") Our discussion initially seemed to be with a rather ticked off
county worker but as we explained about the reason for the gate and that
it was an "exit only" for residents of Limestone Ranch, he seemed to
mellow and I think he understood the situation. However, he said that,
since there had been a call and a report of improper usage, he would
have to (once again?) check it out.
He did let us pass and, by the way, the steel pipe with the hose and
electric cord were NOT in the roadway. Also, we did mention to him that
there had been several instances of people getting nails in their tires
and there seemed to be a connection between the nails and using that gate.

OK, am I the only person getting tired of how much inconvenience this "neighbor" is causing not only our community but law enforcement and any other entities that have to get involved? I completely understand trying to be the bigger person but this is getting out of hand. This man has caused our HOA numerous additional expenses that we will have to pay for in the long run. In addition, several of us are having to pay for tire repairs. What concerns me the most is the pictures taken of vehicles, license plates and drivers/passengers in the vehicles. This has gotten to the point where one individual is harassing an entire community.
I'd like to know if we have any recourse other than paying an officer to sit outside the gate.
Sincerely,
Mari Hernandez

I left the neighborhood at about 8:10 last night. The guy had his spotlight shining directly at the camera.

That seems to be his strategy...to inconvenience us until we go away.
Today at 3 pm, he was yelling and waving his arms right next to the street as I drove by. I am curious what law enforcement is telling him. Do they keep reinforcing that we are not in violation of law, but he is.
Do we have a single contact person with Bexar Co Sheriff's office, or should we just call and start from the beginning every time?

At the annual HOA this past month the attorney who hadled getting the gate open provided to us the history and obstacles we faced in getting the gate opened. The subject of the issues and harassment our owners are being subjected to was discussed and he recommended that each time an incident occurs to call the non emergency number of the Bexar Sheriffs Office and make a report and complaint.Bill DreesSent via the Samsung Galaxy S®6 active, an AT&T 4G LTE smartphone

We had an issue a week ago Friday night and filed a report with the Bexar County Sheriff's office. No emergency number is 210-335-6000.
They told me that if we can, we should use our phones to video as we go through the gate to record anything he does to us (harrassing, shining the light, yelling, etc). If there is something to report, we would have solid evidence of the situation.
I would think it is especially important for mothers with children in the car who are being harassed to report. I believe that this heightens the threat and will also heighten the interest of law enforcement.

I agree. I just hope all of these complaints don’t lead to them take the easy way out and shut down the gate.

Good idea on video..
He is much more aggressive to women and kids..
They will not shut the gate down.. Tom and the crew have done what they need to do to keep it legally open. I say if he wants to be like that we just start using it both ways to come and go. There is no reason for his actions. None
Thanks,
Have a Great day!
