My boating experience is primarily related to fishing. I have owned and
operated two power boats in the last six years, a 26' walk-around and a 28'
classic cruiser which is my current boat. My wife and I discovered that in
addition to providing a platform for fishing the boat is a great weekend get
away. We keep our boat at the Worlds Fair Marina in New York City. My
interest in power catamarans stems from a desire to extend our cruising
range in comfort without spending our bait money on fuel. This site is very
interesting to me, http://www.kit-cats.com/powerboats.htm , does anyone have
experience building one of these?

Comment for Steve Gaedig.
As a designer I should point out that a lot of designers, including
ourselves, provide plans for amateur construction. Most designers can
provide DXF files so that you can have all the parts of your boat cut out
with a CNC cutting machine. It is only a very short step from there to
providing a full kitset of pre-cut parts for the client. And the kitset boat
is a service that virtually every designer can provide these days.
