/Classical Tuesdays in Old Town Tacoma/ invites all to listen in on a
conversation (followed by a demo) between Greg Youtz, composer, and
librettist Zhang Er at www.YouTube.com/classicaltuesdays
http://www.YouTube.com/classicaltuesdays. These two have joined forces
to produce a second opera (their first collaboration, “Fiery Jade: Cai
Yun” premiered at PLU in 2016). This second opera is titled “Tacoma
Method” and portrays the story of the 1885 expulsion of Chinese
laborers, businessmen, and families living in Tacoma at that time.

Zhang Er, poet and lyricist, was born in Beijing and now lives in
Washington State. She is on the faculty at The Evergreen State College.

Greg Youtz, composer, is Professor of Music and Director of the Gateway
Program in Trinidad at Pacific Lutheran University.

We’ll post later in the month about our upcoming March event!
