Without having unlimited resources to purchase and/or try out  various

types of passagemaker style boats one needs to ask the question of an  experience
audience.....the PUP list and others.

That's right, Dave. But apparently, this isn't where  the experienced
audience is, with exceptions, of course, which surprised  me.

Heavy also helps comfort, although not necessarily safety and  certainly not

fuel economy.  My custom Seaton 55' at 70 tons is a lot  more comfortable
than my previous Kadey-Krogen 54' at 34 tons and 20% of the  ballast.

Hal, I would think so, too. But, your number must be off, no? 70 long tons
diaplacement on a 55'LOA??

John, knowing something about your boat, I doubt that you could  find
something more comfortable or seaworthy without going to at least  70
or 80 feet, too big for my kind of cruising but fine for some folks.

Yes, Wayne, that's what I am beginning to realize...now all I need is  the
money!
