IMLA Federal Funding Calls

Good afternoon:

I am attaching a notice to recipients of Coronavirus State & Local Fiscal Recovery Funds that was sent out by the U.S. Treasury today related to its plans to "vigorously monitor" and recoup funds under the SLFRF.

This is a reminder that we will have a federal funding call on 3/27 at 3 pm eastern. You should have a calendar invite with the zoom, but you can also access it here; https://us06web.zoom.us/j/82552547555.

Also, as a reminder, we'd like to track new conditions you are seeing on grants as well as any funding being withheld or clawed back. To that end, we've created a google form, which you can access here: https://imla.org/federal-grants/. Please fill out this form with any specific information you have on challenges you are having with particular grants, and we will get the responses out to the group.

Finally, our next call after this Thursday's call will be on 4/8 at 2 pm eastern. We'll have guests joining us from Governing for Impact. Adam Grogg and Dan Jacob speaking about Challenging Unlawful Impoundment. They will discuss ways cities could challenge unlawful impoundment of federal funds.

I am also attaching the First Circuit's denial of the federal government's motion to stay the district court's preliminary injunction in the OMB federal funding freeze litigation New York v. Trump.

Also pending in that case is the plaintiff / state's motion to the district court to compel compliance with the preliminary injunction as it relates to FEMA funding (attached). The court has ordered a response to that motion by today.
