Dear IMLA Board and IMLA Fellows- As IMLA recently announced, we have established the Charles W. Thompson Jr. Local Government Law Scholarships for first- and second year law students who have a demonstrated interest in municipal law. The Scholarships--one for $5,000 and two for $2,500--are described more fully in the above document and on IMLA's website. As indicated, Scholarship applicants must submit written materials and references. IMLA is forming a five-person Review Committee to review applications and select Scholarship recipients. If you are interested in becoming a part of the Review Committee, please let me know. We look forward to supporting the study of municipal law at law schools nationwide.
