Scott: Been there done that: Unless you are on a rigid schedule I  suggest
waiting it out for better times. It is really not the sea swells that  are a
problem but it is the wind. Usually they are coming from the south along  with
all the debris from North Africa. As for waiting time they last from 5 to 7

The VT85-0030 is about the only way to cut large battery cables in situ
and still get a clean cut.
