I have used the direct connect DA amplifier with a 6db DA cellular antenna.
It has made communication possible where folks on land nearby could not use
their cellphones. I now have the DA wireless amplifier and have not fully
implemented its installation. However, I have used it in a compromised
fashion. Instead of using the supplied antenna intended for my mast, I've
used the existing 6db one. Then I took the internal antenna and laid it on
its side on the opposite side of the cabin from the 6db antenna. The
directions say that it should be further isolated by an intervening
bulkhead. I used my body and that worked.

They have now changed the antenna to a flat, rectangular box for wall mount.
Funny, they haven't contacted me concerning a free upgrade. {;*)) You get
anomalous results in the presence of strong cell towers. Usually, the
amplifier automatically throttles back to avoid saturating the tower and
ticking off the cellular company.
