We are contemplating purchasing a 49' steel passage maker, taking delivery
in Europe and spending several years cruising Europe and the Med before
returning to N. America thru the Panama Canal and the West coast of N.
America.

Questions:

  1. Has anyone finishing Passage making and wishes to sell their Nobletec
    world charts?
  2. How do people handle the insurance problem on European/offshore passage
    making?
  3. Has anyone kept track of their cruising expense in these areas recently?
  4. How do moorage costs in Europe/Med compare to N. America?

  1. How do moorage costs in Europe/Med compare to N. America?

The cost of slips in Europe cost about 25 to 50% more in the Med than the
average in USA (east), when including power and water).  The cost of longer
term storage may run 2 to 3X as much.  (Based on Med 2005, USA 2003)
