UW Tacoma IAS seminar, Tuesday at 10:00

JM
Jeremy M. Davis
Tue, Jul 28, 2015 3:01 AM

Join us tomorrow, (Tuesday) at 10:00 in 102 Keystone, to hear about Dr. Ellen Bayer's recent research in a talk entitled, “Ecocriticism and the Ecological Implications of Edgar Allan Poe's Landscape Tales.”

Her talk will provide a brief introduction to ecocriticism and how a humanist approach to environmental concerns can complement the sciences. To illustrate ecocriticism in practice, she will discuss her current research project, which analyzes nineteenth-century landscape aesthetic theories in a selection of Edgar Allan Poe's tales and points to the broader environmental impact of these practices.

Hope to see you there!
