?

Please join me in welcoming Oakland Museum of California to the CollectionSpace community.

We've all met Al Bersch, Collections Systems Manager, and Becky Escamilla, Digital Services Manager, via the talk list, and are glad to welcome the rest of the OMCA CSpace migration team: Carolyn Rissanen (Registrar), Debra Peterson (Registrar, Digital Assets), Nathan Kerr (Collections Access Specialist) and Larry Patague (Network Administrator). OMCA will use CollectionSpace to manage their collection of more than 1.9 million objects, including seminal art works, historical artifacts, ethnographic objects, natural specimens, and photographs.

If you'd like to meet Al, Becky, Debra, and Suzanne Fischer, Associate Curator, Contemporary History and Trends, in person, they'll be presenting at the Western Museums Association Annual Meeting in October. In a session titled, "Where to Begin? Choosing a Collections Management Database," OMCA staff will share their experiences with the CollectionSpace selection and implementation process.

We look forward to a long and productive collaboration.

Best regards,
Megan

Thanks Megan for the formal welcome! We're really happy to be joining the
cspace project, and grateful for all the help and support we've received

Hi Al and others at OMCA,
We're so excited to see this update!  I wonder if anyone from UC Berkeley
is attending the WMA meeting. I'll ask around.
Thanks,
Chris
