Actually our last fueling in Cumana, VZ was for 1000 liters. With 45 liters
of gas and the tip to the attendant and the line handlers it was US$23.
The official price for diesel is B's 48/liter. Given that the on the street
US$ to B'd exchange rate which can vary for 2500 to as high as 4400 to the
dollar. The price of diesel is rarely more than US$0.10.

If you want unlimited amounts then it is a bit more as they have to "deliver
it to your boat offshore". For this it was 250 B's per liter.

Anyway you pump it it is cheap and Swan Song's Detroit Diesel loves it...no
smoke, no dirt, no nothing just crystal clear diesel. BTW the gasoline is so
clear that that it looks like alcohol. Our 4 stroke 60 HP Merc seems to
thrive on it too. We just sorry we don't have a larger gasoline storage
tank.

The cost of fuel for the dinghy while we are in the Eastern and Northern
Caribbean will exceed the cost of the diesel we will use :-(

Typically $4/gal for gasoline at the docks!!

W have a rough total of a 1000 miles since August on Swan Song. The tender
has 823 miles on the log right now and we don't always turn the unit on so I
think we are closer to being equal. Add the towing mileage as she's always
behind us. No wonder its bottom paint doesn't last as long ;-)

As always YMMV....and the cost of that mileage may vary too ;-)
