their Ultimate Potential Act, HR 2249, would
allow states to participate in a demonstration program
that enables them to integrate any of five federal
funding streams for initiatives that promote
self-sufficiency among the poor, increase work and
earnings and reduce welfare dependence.
Covered programs would include Temporary Assistance
for Needy Families, Supplemental Nutrition
Assistance Program, the Social Services Block
Grant and the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity
Act Title I and adult education programs. Introduced
April 28, by Rep. Tom Reed (R-NY).
