iCeNSA Postdoctoral Research Associate position available in Complex Network Research with focus on Large-scale Social Networks

The Interdisciplinary Center for Network Science and Applications (iCeNSA, on the web http://icensa.nd.edu/ http://icensa.nd.edu/ ) at Notre Dame University, IN, USA, is seeking  outstanding, strongly motivated  candidates to fill one postdoctoral research  position, commencing as soon as possible, preferably early Spring 2010.

This project is part of the Social and Cognitive Network Academic Research Center  funded by the Army Research Lab and focuses on computational social network  modeling from large databases. The appointment is for two years, with possibility of extension for a third. The Postdoctoral Research Associate is expected to spend some fraction of this appointment at the ARL research site of BBN Technologies, in Boston, MA.

The successful candidate must have a recent PhD degree in a relevant area such as physics, computer science, social sciences, and mathematics. Strong computational modeling and analytical background, and excellent programming skills are required. Particular attention will be given to candidates with a background  in social sciences and network research, however, it is not a requirement. Interdisciplinary research experience is a plus.
