I have some information about this boat and like the design. Has anyone out
there seen one?

I strongly suspect that many of us here
are waiting to see this vessel and what
it can do!

Go to their website www.mecat.com?and read in detail the results of their testing the Glacier Bay OSSA Powerlite diesel-electric system, which did not give them the max speed they wanted.
They are looking at Volvo 160 hp engines.
See also their ad (linked from their website) which offers a range of propulsion choices,
and a flybridge.
I was at the Miami boat show in Feb, 2007, and was on their Maine Cat 41 sailboat, which impressed me with the layout and quality of the boat. (The P-38 was not yet on the water.)
Also spent some time talking with Dick Vermeulen, Maine Cat owner, and his son--both impressed me with their candor and explanations of the P-38's design and construction methods.
They had a presentation at the Miami Yacht Club with reps from OSSA Powerlite. I was impressed--and am quite disappointed later that the actual tests on the water did not provide the speed they expected. It is not clear to me whether Maine Cat will try again when OSSA Powerlite has a more powerful propulsion system available.
I saw the?Moorings 4300?diesel electric catamaran at the show and had a walk through of the diesel-electric system from a Glacier Bay rep. It impressed me. (And from what I read it is working satisfactorily on that boat.)
