Killer Whales, aka Orcas

Had the pleasure of watching a pod of Orcas for about 30 minutes about 10
miles west of Pt. Delgado CA, that's Shelter Cove just above Fort Bragg,
about a week ago. They came up to within about 200 yards and we watched
them with the engine shut down for quite a spell. We estimated there to be
about 5-7 individuals, one being a youngster. They appeared to be feeding
on fish schools and traversed back and forth with no discernable pattern.

Pretty lucky, as I have not had as good a look in about 10 years and that
was up in the San Juan Islands, in Boundary Passage, next to the Canadian
Border.
