Hello!
We are excited to announce a 10 week summer job opportunity through Harvest Against Hunger and Americorp from June 10th to August 16th. The Summer Vista Associate will work with the Pierce Conservation District and its Community Garden Program to build systems for increased food access throughout Tacoma and Pierce County. The program recently adopted the Pierce County Gleaning Project - which was entering its third full year as a sponsored AmeriCorps*VISTA Harvest Against Hunger program - and is working to fully integrate the gleaning work into existing food access programs. The Pierce Conservation District is a municipal sub-division of state government, working to advance resource conservation through a diversity of strategies. The Community Garden Program is a program of the District and
works to build and support community gardens, coordinate educational opportunities and build systems for increased access to local food.
