Dear NCL colleagues,

The American Library Association (ALA) just released a new policy brief, "Libraries and the 2020 Census."https://bit.ly/CountOnLibraries

Libraries are essential, trusted partners in achieving a complete count in the 2020 Census. Libraries:

  • Deliver information about the Census and host community outreach activities.
  • Provide internet access and enable respondents to complete the Census form online.
  • Serve as trusted messengers, including in hard-to-count communities.
  • Train data users and provide access to Census statistics for businesses and community members.

"Libraries and the 2020 Census"https://bit.ly/CountOnLibraries explains how decision makers, including state and local policymakers, can partner with libraries as they work to ensure their communities are fully represented in the 2020 Census.
Please share the brief with policymakers in your state, as appropriate, such as your governor's office and state legislators.
