Hello City of Tacoma! My name is Kate Threat, I am a student at the University of Puget Sound and I am currently interning with Write253 for the summer! I'm emailing you to let you know about a poetry workshop that I will be hosting with Write253 in July, in hopes that you will spread the word to anyone you think may be interested. Blackbirds and Blacktop: Nature Poetry in the City is a workshop for girls of color ages 11-18. There are two opportunities to attend: on July 20th and 27th, and I would love it if you could spread the word about this event! It is free of charge and open to any girls of color in the Tacoma area who are interested. No poetry experience is required and there is no need to register.
