Fellow Naturalists,
I realize that this is last minute, but I need help! My situation is such
that I have an upcoming Bioblitz at Charles Wright Academy (Tacoma, WA) on
Saturday, April 14th. We are intending to survey the school's surrounding
forest/creek space (joining in to Chambers Creek) and record the various
animal species found within. We will be sending out bird, reptile,
amphibian, and mammal teams throughout the day to our differing habitats,
both with and without student assistance. I reach out to this bulletin's
recipients, knowing that either you or someone you know has naturalist
skills that would be helpful to our project. While we are heavy in student
interest, we are running into a last minute shortage of knowledgeable
adults. The event was purposefully planned away from Earth Day, yet I was
apparently not the only one who thought of such a genius plan. If you
could volunteer a hour or two on Saturday, I would be most appreciative. I
will be around all day to help direct you to a survey team. That being
said, know that we will have an upper elementary survey carried out from
8:30-10:30am, a lower elementary team from 12:30-2:30, and an all-school
survey from 4-6pm. If you are interested in going at it alone or in small
adult groups, you can join us in between these times. Thank you for
considering!
