NAVY CATAMARAN ARRIVES IN SAN DIEGO

Calling it the future of the U.S. Navy's surface fleet, military
officials and local members of Congress Monday welcomed the Navy's
prototype catamaran warship to its new home port in San Diego.

About 100 V.I.P. guests and military service members boarded the
262-foot-long "Sea Fighter" early Monday morning for a two-hour
cruise that included a run at the ship's trademark speed of 50 knots,
or about 57 miles per hour
