Got your lantern ready? The second Lantern Paddle for Species launches June 10! Bring your lamp, lantern or illuminated sculpture to the Foss Waterway Seaport in Tacoma, then paddle out or watch this magical evening from the dock or shore. 7pm: PLU Steel Pan band and the start of the 70-48 paddle race  8pm: Aerial circus by Vuelta la Luna 9pm: Lantern paddle on water, to the haunting flute music of Paul Chiyokten Wagner.  Free for all. Join us. | | | | Lantern Paddle | | | | | | | | | | | | | Beach cleanup with art & music! You can clean up a beach anytime - but only during Ocean Fest can you do it to live Hawaiian music! Join Hula Hulau and pick up trash from Chambers Bay Beach - then help us make a trash art mural! 9:30-12pm June 11. FREE! | | | | | Beach Cleanup | | | | | | | | | | | Alejandro Durán: art from plastic Mexican-American artist Alejandro Durán creates large-scale photography of trash washed up on Mexico's beaches. Come to Ocean Fest to see it - plus our very own installation, made by local artist Mary Mann and students. 10am-5pm June 12 and through summer. | | | | | Festival Art | | | | | | | | | | | Ocean science fun! Look through a microscope, learn about salmon, play water drop Plinko or marine animal Skull Sleuth!
