Roger,

I believe you are asking about the Trawler Cat Marine 45-ft catamaran that
is now being built in Toledo, Oregon.  It was formerly a 43-ft boat built
and sold by Graham Pfister in China.  Graham has upgraded the boat to 45-ft
and is in partnership with John Shaw to build the boats in Oregon.  They now
call it Pacific Coast Boats.

I bought the first 45-ft boat from the new partnership (July 6th) and it is
now under construction in Toledo.  It is expected to be completed in April
or May of next year and I would be delighted to share my operational
experiences with the boat after it is done.

I will ask Graham and John if I can share some construction photos with you
if you would care to see them.  The port hull is nearing completion, most
all the bulkheads are built, and the bottom deck is nearly complete.
Construction has begun on the house but I'm not sure how far along it is.

We visited the boat shop in September and will be going back up the 3rd week
of November to see the progress.  I was obviously impressed by both Graham
and John or I would not have made such a financial commitment, but I am even
more impressed by how they are handling everything and their construction
attitude and philosophy.  I'm the typical anal engineer (an academic to
boot) and spent nearly seven years doing research on what I thought would
serve us best.  I am completely pleased with my decision up to now.

Be sure to keep us posted of progress toward construction. As you
move forward, we'll be interested to hear what equipment choices you
are making and why.

What was your criteria for a boat to serve you best? What other boats
did you consider? Why did you select the TrawlerCat?
