We're in the throes of data mapping and have run into an issue. We currently use a 1956 copy of the Yale University eHRAF Outline of World Culture Codes (OWC) as we have a large ethnographic and archaeological collection. We know these are terribly outdated and we're looking to see if any other institution has had the challenge of updating these codes during their migration to Collection Space? Please be specific in discussing your challenges, questions that came up during migration, and solutions to issues.
Additionally, the newest version of the OWC is available as a paid online subscriber service, but we just do not need all of that information and it is cost prohibitive for us to subscribe at this time. Is this available anywhere as linked open-source data (LOD), kind of like the Getty AAT?
Any answers or comments are greatly appreciated!!!
