Landing at Fort Ticonderoga

Some years ago we followed the instructions of an out-dated guide book and
landed our dinghy on the south side of Fort Ticonderoga and it all worked
out very poorly.  We would up touring the fort, covered in mud.

Recently, I found the easy way!

Cruise over to the north end of the fort, and land at the new docks just
south of the Ticonderoga Ferry.  Fishermen told me the depth was about 4
feet at the docks there, though I have not verified this.  Then walk about
a hundred yards to the car entrance of the fort and walk up the driveway.
