Hi all –

First off, thank you all for your all your statements, social media posts, blog posts etc. in support of the Digital Equity Act. We’ve been thrilled to see its reception and excited to keep up the momentum as we near House introduction.
A few pieces of information:

-          NDIA and SHLB are creating a coalition with the goal of advancing and passing the Digital Equity Act. We’ll have our first call this upcoming Friday (my apologies for the short notice) and planning on holding check-ins every other Friday
moving forward. These shouldn’t run over a half hour and will cover legislative/outreach updates and strategy.

o   Digital Equity Act Coalition Call

Friday, May 3, 1pm-1:30pm (call-in information below)

o   Please let Angela Siefer (mailto:angela@digitalinclusions.org) know if you would like to be added to the coalition’s listserv.

-          The House will send around a Dear Colleague letter tomorrow seeking cosponsors, with plans on introducing either late next week, or the week of May 13th. Cc’ed here is Svetlana Matt with Rep. McNerney’s office who is leading
the chamber’s introduction. We welcome any outreach you can do to House members in this next week to encourage as many to hop on as possible.

-          We have a bill number on the Senate side – https://www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/senate-bill/1167?q=%7B%22search%22%3A%5B%22s1167%22%5D%7D&s=1&r=1

Again, thank you all for your engagement on this and please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns!

Best,

Hart
