At our post-season meeting, we decided to create some accountability for
off day workouts. While the figurative ball was dropped on that, there's no
reason why we can't start it now.
In order to facilitate that accountability, I created a group at
bodybuilding.com (despite the name, it's a pretty feature-rich and free
service).
http://groups.bodybuilding.com/denver_harlequins_rfc
We can either use that, or use the Facebook group and create a thread for
each day.

Those who work out with other guys can just have one person post and list
the names of the other guys. If you want to work out with other guys, but
don't know who lives in your area, check out the contact list.

We can also have small groups for those who can't work out together who can
email/message each other every day to keep those in the small group
accountable. As I won't really be able to work out with anyone, I'd like to
be in one of those groups.
The idea would be to build each other up, not tear each other down. While
there's always a little healthy ribbing, tearing down of someone's workout
in a non-constructive manner just makes people less likely to post their
workout. We all lose if that happens.

Gentlemen,
In following up with Aaron's note below, I just wanted you all to understand that with the new league setup and the amount of competition we now face, the bar has been raised significantly.
This means that in order for us to truly benefit from Coach Peter's experience and to elevate our play to compete, we have to already be fit to execute.
Training is for learning how to be a championship caliber rugby club and not a cardio workout. Training does offer some good fitness but only as a supplement to your own work.
This season the commitment to the club has to start off the field on your own time to get and stay fit. If you are not running at least 2 times a week on your own, you are letting your teammates down on the field.
We have shown over the years that we know how to win as a club and that you can still have a great rugby culture off the pitch at the same time.
But I cannot stress enough that once we start sliding as a club on the field, in this current league, we will end up as a social club by default and coming back from that is nearly impossible.
That said, I am looking for a few vets to step up and take on the role of fitness coordinators and to keep each other accountable for their own fitness. Aaron has provided some links below as a starting point.
Need some dedicated people to take ownership...
