5/25. Stratford, Sikorsky Airport & Great Meadows marsh -  At noon today I witnessed a huge flock feeding Chimney Swifts in the air above the airport entrance, the grassy meadow, especially and the adjacent salt marsh. I stopped the car to witness this, and then to try to count the swifts. Scanning the marsh and vicinity with binocs, and quickly trying to count the flying birds by twos, I came up with 330. I suspect this is an undercount. Where did they all come from?

Here are my comments from my EBird list:

Huge feeding flock swarming over salt marsh and airport entrance. Amazing! I pulled car over to witness this, and took a rough count by twos. What are they feeding on? Mosquitoes? No-see-ums? I don’t think I’ve ever seen such a huge feeding flock, ever.
