The South Sound Chapter of Surfrider Foundation annually joins with a dozen
chapters from Oregon to B.C. Canada to celebrate the ocean and the
environmental work of the PNW chapters at this bona-fida surf contest.
Activities include a beach cleanup and kids surf camp (equipment supplied by
Warm Current Foundation).
How can you get the most out of your visit to Westport and The Clean Water
Classic Pro-Am Surf Contest? Volunteer! Meet other volunteers from Oregon,
British Columbia and Washington, and further afar each year. Some of us are
registered in the contest heats so we need you, the non-contestants to be
there for the fun and participate as a volunteer. So come sign up and have
fun. (If the South Sound Chapter does not have volunteers signed up, we do
not share in the profits of the event. So come out and support your local
Tacoma surfers and marine activists as we kick of the Spring-Summer surfing
season at Westport.)
Also, join in the raffle for a chance to snag ocean themed equipment and
artwork.
The fun starts Friday evening with sign-ins and viewing the raffle items.
The volunteering starts Friday afternoon. The dance party Saturday night is
always epic and even Friday night at the Islander Bar and Grill can be an
hot taste of the fun to be had.
Here's the Scoop: Go to the website www (dot) cleanwaterclassic (dot) com
and select "Volunteer." The sign-up is an online form. It's easy. It's fun
to participate...
AND WE NEED YOU!
