General Description
This boat is a raised pilothouse trawler (RPH) very similar in design to a
49' RPH Defever only considerably larger the 18' 7" beam gives it a volumous
interior and still allows for wide roomy side decks. It was built in 1981 by
one of the same yards that built the Defever which probably explains the
similarities. Throughout it's life it has been maintained and upgraded without
regard to cost this includes complete awlgrip paint job in 2000. Currently owned
by a boat builder of 23 years it is mechanically and cosmetically excellent
with an emphasis on dependability and fuel economy. Cruising speed of 9.5
knots is accomplished at only 8 GPH fuel consumption utilizing only 1/2 of the
engines continuos output it's 1800 gallon capacity gives this boat a range of
over 2000 miles. It is exceptionally smooth and quite only 68 decibels in the
pilothouse at cruising speed with excellent sea keeping abilities dry and
stable.
In my search for this boat and others often the description and photos sound
great but the reality is a disappointment. So I will make you this promise
if you take the time to come and view this boat and find that it was
misrepresented I will reimburse you for your travel expenses. I don't have any way to
know if the style and features of this boat will suite your needs but I'm
confident you will agree that this boat is in exceptional condition and
absolutely turn key.
