Total observation time: 7 hours
Official Counter: 1Counter

Visitors:
Thanks to Jim and Kitty B for doing today's count and for any others who
were onsite to help spot the birds.
Weather:
The cloud cover today was pretty much solid though it did break out a bit
between 1-2 pm before closing back in again. Temps were still quite warm
for this time of the season starting at 16C and getting to a high of 24C.
Winds were light to moderate all day going from SE to S to SW then back to
SSE and ending S.
Raptor Observations:
An interesting flight today with a number of falcons (all 3 typical
species) on the move using the lift created at the cliff with the southerly
winds along with several other good raptors. The total raptors for the day
was 404 with a good push of Sharpies (177) and Am Kestrels (75) and just a
few N. Harriers (7).
The Peregrines (25) put on a show today almost matching the count from one
of the days the previous week. This puts our Peregrine count for 2021 at
100 which is just slightly higher than our 20 year average of 90.
Other good raptors were 3 Goshawks and a couple of Swainson's Hawks that
passed over the hawk watch well within "unaided eye" range as the flight
for the day was not high which is typical on days with winds from the
south.
Non-raptor Observations:
For those interested in Monarchs there were 32 counted passing through. No
reports of non-raptors were provided.
