I'm sure I'll also be pestering you on Monday before noon or so. Didn't
know
Bayside was a display area, however. Thanks.

Hi, this is Pam, Glenn's wife. The P-47 is at Bay Side, the strictly sail
show, floating pier C next to Catalina and Island Packet. We are here this
morning, sunday, and all day monday. Hope to meet you.

Where exactly is the boat being displayed at the Miami Boat Show; I'd like
to ensure I get an opportunity to have a look as well as meet you while
you're here in town.

Spending the winter in Stuart I jumped at the occasion to make contact and
was warmly invited to come aboard.
After sticking my nose in all the nooks and crannies and feeling under the
various surfaces, I don't know who needs to be congratulated more: Dick
Vermeulen on producing such a high quality product, the cabinet makers for
their craftsmanship, or owners Pam and Glenn for having designed an
interior layout that is (in my humble opinion) second to none in terms of
creating the ideal boat for a couple, with the occasional guest.
If you have any chance of visiting the Miami boat show, this is a must see
for anyone interested in a power cat.
I think I'm in love again... My only issue is that I now need to go and
hold up a stagecoach...
Happy sailing!

at the moment we are in stuart, florida. finally out of the cold. the
builder and his crew delivered the boat to charleston, s.c. and we drove
it to
stuart. much of the first half of the trip was done on the "outside" but
since charleston, seeing that we were unfamiliar with the boat, and
because of
some earlier motor issues (we have volvo "new" D-3 220 hp's.), we stayed
in
the ICW the whole rest of the way.
we love the boat. it runs great. we love the interior. when we got to
florida and warmer weather we were able to open the front panel of the
flybridge. only noise we heard was the wind and vibration was
negligible. of
course, down on the main deck, it was more like a power boat experience.
on
average we traveled at 17/18 kts and turned 3150/75 rpm's. our bow was
up 2/3
percent. at those speeds our fuel burn was about 13 gph.
we ran into a big problem when we ordered the motors: there was no
practical
way for owners to change their own oil!! the only method volvo approved
was
via the dip stick. but the ID of the dipstick is 1/4". they promised us
that
there would be a new dipstick assembly available. we started getting on
their
case in april but when our boat was launched in november they had made no
progress on providing a refit. to get our oil changed we tried using
3/16 th"
brake line married to a reverso pump but no go. finally volvo said we
should
go to their local charleston dealer and they could do the change for us
AFTER
FIRST REMOVING THE WHOLE DIPSTICK ASSEMBLY RIGHT DOWN TO THE OIL PAN!
that
only took 6 hrs! then, for what should be a simple oil change we got a
bill
for $635!!
volvo has promised us they will have new dipsticks for us at the show and
they
will install them while we are there. of course we'll be having a
"discussion" on who should be responsible for the "oil change bill"?
once the show ends and the gulf stream is calm we'll head to the bahamas
for a
few months.
