Note: Charlie Barnard provided this important guidance for those
trying to see the Tufted Duck:
"Birders should be aware that Captain's Cove is private property, much
like the Stratford Marina. Therefore, please be careful about where
you park and where you venture on the property. The staff is not used
to large numbers of birders coming there, so things could end fast if
cars are parked where they should not be parked and if birders are
walking into areas where they should not be going.  Be courteous and
thoughtful please."
Tina then added:
"Just to add to Charlie's post, no one is allowed on the docks in
front of the pavilion area where the ducks were yesterday. The docks
are private property and we are not allowed there. Please respect the
signs and do not pass through the "gate" to get a closer view or
photo. Thank you."

02/23/15 - Bridgeport, Captains Cove Seaport, 1 Bostwick Ave -- 7:38
AM; adult female Tufted Duck continues in amongst the scaup and other
waterfowl. Park at the "ICE" building end of the lot and walk to your
left and head towards the covered viewing platform.
Milford, Caswell Cove -- about 11:15 AM; Golden Eagle seen in flight
(with 2 Bald Eagles) before flying west over the tree line towards
Stratford.

02/23/15 - Bridgeport, Captains Cove -- 1:25 to 1:55 PM; No sight of
Tufted Duck.  Apparently hasn't been seen since the morning.

02/23/15 - Bridgeport, Captains Cove -- Around 3:15 PM; the female
Tufted Duck flew back in with nearly 300 lesser scaup and 3 Redheads
and is showing nicely.

02/23/15 - Norfolk, off Newfield Rd -- 2 Common Raven harassing a
beautiful adult Northern Goshawk.

02/23/15 - Norwalk, along the frozen Norwalk River near I-95 bridge --
two Peregrine Falcons chasing a Red-tailed Hawk out of the area.

02/23/15 - Stamford, off Stamford Ave -- 4:25; emale Barrow's
Goldeneye.  After reviewing some pictures, I have confirmed there
being a second Female Barrow's Goldeneye in the group. Earlier in the
day I also had 1 male White-winted Scoter mixed in with the Scaup
group.

02/23/15 - Norwalk, Veteran's Memorial Park -- 1 LESSER BLACK-BACKED
GULL (1st cycle).
Norwalk, Fourteen Acre Pond (from Stonybrook Road) -- 1 BLUE-WINGED
TEAL (female), 1 NORTHERN SHOVELER (male).
Westport, Sherwood Island State Park -- 1 SNOW BUNTING, 1 FOX SPARROW.
Stratford, Stratford Point -- 1 LAPLAND LONGSPUR, 15 SNOW BUNTING.

02/22/15 - ?????, ferry landing opposite Gillette's Castle -- 2 PM;
saw and heard a flock (?) of 5 Common Raven flying in a southerly
direction.
