Vuecrest Monthly Board Meeting

Annual Meeting and Ballots

A reminder that our 2013 Annual Meeting will be held on Thursday, November
14 at 7:00 p.m., in Pearson Hall at Grace Lutheran Church, on the other side
of NE 8th St, opposite Vuecrest.

We will present a review of this year, vote on the proposed budget for next
year, as well as hold elections for two of the Director positions. In
addition, representatives from the City of Bellevue Planning & Community
Development will present information on the ongoing Downtown Livability
initiative.

The ballots for the Annual meeting will be mailed out this week to the
contact addresses on file for each property. Please return them by mail or
bring them in person to the Annual Meeting.

Call for Volunteers

The board is looking for a volunteer to write our monthly newsletter and
help with other board communications tasks.  We also are looking for a new
Safety committee chair. If you are interested, please email
directors@vuecrest.net.

Thanks to Valerie Amburn and Neema Desai for their service to our
neighborhood.

Tree Trimming

Our landscaping chair, Rick Adell talked with three recommended landscaping
companies, and all offered comparable prices.

.                    Bartlett Tree Experts (www.bartlett.com)

.                    Davey Tree (http://www.davey.com)

.                    EcoTree Norhthwest (http://ecotreenw.com/)

Please consider taking this opportunity to work on keeping your properties
in compliance with the hedge height (4' max in front, 6' in rear) and view
protection requirements of our Protective Restrictions. Delaying trimming of
trees and hedges can greatly increase the cost of cutting them back later.
If you have questions, please contact landscaping@vuecrest.net

Halloween Safety Tips (courtesy of the Medina Police Department)

.                    Make sure children can see well through face masks, or
use cosmetics to create fun or scary faces. Perhaps choose a costume that
does not include a face mask so your child's face is clearly visible.

.                    Wear light-colored clothing that is short enough to
prevent tripping and add reflective tape to the sides, front and back of
costume.

.                    Adults should accompany young children.

.                    Go out in daylight and carry a flashlight in case of
delay.

.                    Stay within the neighborhood and only visit well-lit
homes you know.

.                    Watch for traffic.

.                    Only give and accept wrapped or packaged candy.

.                    Examine all candy before allowing children to eat it.

.                    Keep costumed children away from pets. The pet may not
recognize the child and become frightened.

.                    Avoid hard plastic or wood props such as daggers or
swords.  Substitute with foam rubber which is soft and flexible.
