Gents,
The selections committee and the execs met last week to discuss the current player eligibility rule of 1 training the week prior to the sat match to start.
After much discussion we opted to change the rule in favor of a new expanded one that takes a players overall commitment into account.
One of the main difficulties we are trying to address is in the early part of the Spring and Fall where we simply do not have enough people out to run an effective training until the week before the first match.
The new rule now is that you must make 3 of the previous 6 trainings to start on the D2 side.
This means with this rule you are only "eligible" to start on the D2 side if you meet the criteria.
The selection committee takes this info and adds it to what they see at training and who is there and when and if they communicate with them about absences, etc..
Ultimately the decision rests with the selectors on both the D2 and D3 rosters. All this rule does is establish a minimum level of commitment to the club and your fellow teammates.
Please email me privately if you have any questions or comments.
Thanks,
