SATURDAY CYCLING WORKOUTS UPDATE and SURVEY...
Following is a description of our current status for Saturday morning
cycling workouts between December-March. We'd also like your input, so
please check any of the poll options below that apply to you (and feel free
to post any comments that you have).
This is usually the time of year when we begin to do Saturday morning
indoor bike trainer rides at the Spring Valley YMCA with an optional "on
your own" brick run afterwards. We've decided that at least for December
we are going to not offer trainer rides at the Y.
In place of the Y-based trainer rides, we are planning to offer Zwift
meetups on Saturday mornings (in addition to Tuesday evenings) for the next
four weeks (December 12, 19, 26, and January 2). These rides will also be
scheduled for a longer duration... probably 90 minutes vs our usual 60
minute Tuesday evening meetups (keep in mind that if you are seeking a
shorter ride you can join the ride in progress up to 30 minutes after it
starts and, of course, you can stop at any time during a ride). We may
also supplement the rides with some sort of a conferencing option (e.g.
Zoom) for anyone that would like to participate in a more "in-person" type
of option. More coming on all of this, so stay tuned for an "Event"
posting sometime in the next few days for the first Saturday meetup.
We are evaluating options for January through March (we typically
transition back outdoors by the end of March... Yay!) that could include
SVY trainer rides, continued Zwift meetups, or a combination of the two.
As soon as we have a path forward, we'll announce it here.
PS - And of course we're always ready to pivot to an outdoor group ride on
the occasional warm winter Saturday morning. 🙂
