develop the Spectrum procedure "Object Condition Checking and Technical
Assessment." We would like to contribute this procedure back to the
community, and would advocate for its becoming part of the core. The schema
for this procedure is taken from Spectrum 4.0, and is available on the main
project wiki:

.
In addition, Moving Image will develop a domain extension to both
Cataloging and Condition Checking based on the DOCAM Cataloging Guide for
New Media Collections. These extensions are still under review by our
community of practice; I will send another email out to the talk list when
they are finalized.
Please let me know if anyone has questions, concerns, feedback, etc.
Thanks,
Megan

Thanks Megan -
A few questions, in part based upon UCB experience with these:
What's your timeline for development, and for eventual contribution?
We'd need to be realistic about support for the work, and review of a
contribution.
*
Have you got a spec for advanced search for this? Am mostly curious
whether there is anything non-standard there.
*
Am curious about the Priority Code controlled list values
[1,2,3,4,5]. Will these be done as test values in a traditional controlled
list (I presume so from the description)? Will you want range search to work
on these (to search for priority higher (less than) "3"? This is not
currently supported as of 2.4, but may be supported by an extension under
development here at UCB.
*
I see that all the dates are specified as simple Calendar dates. In
our experience, back-fitting structured dates is a PITA, so I'd consider
carefully if any of these (especially for imported data) need to support
more than a simple scalar date.
Thanks - sounds like a nice contribution.
Patrick

Hi Megan,
I just want to let you know that we would see this contribution as very useful and would definitely use it in our implementation of CollectionSpace. Do you have any idea of the time frame for this contribution?
Cheers,
Kim
