Join us for the 6th season of community forums focused on design issues relevant to Tacoma's urban neighborhoods and downtown core - a healthy dialogue can lead to thoughtful action. Each forum is followed by an informal after-party to continue the conversation with our speakers.

Come hear about the pivotal choices made by the City of Portland to help transform their urban core. After viewing a short documentary from the PBS e2 series, A Sense of Place, we'll discuss the benefits and risks of looking at other cities as role models and what may or may not be right for Tacoma.

Several visions for Tacoma have come and gone yet we find ourselves once more on the precipice of a new strategic vision. How has leadership effectively engaged the community to produce such a vision? Come discuss what success looks like if we get it right.

The last word this year goes to the people. We all choose to live in Tacoma for different reasons. Whether it's the grit, the beauty, the opportunity, or the destiny, this is our chance to weigh in. Each speaker will each have 10 minutes and 10 slides to propose a destiny realized. Come have your point of view expanded... but only briefly.
