Park(ing) Day is Sept. 21, 2012 - Join us to create temporary public spaces!

Park(ing) Dayhttp://parkingday.org/ is an annual global event where citizens, artists and activists collaborate to temporarily transform metered parking spaces into "PARK(ing)" spaces: temporary public places. This fun, community event is intended to call attention to the need for more urban open space, to generate critical debate around how public space is created and allocated, and to improve the quality of urban human habitat.

Sign up now to reserve your parking spot anywhere in downtown Tacoma. Participating does not cost anything but you are responsible for designing and hosting the site.

If you can't host a parking space but would like to get involved, join Downtown On the Go for our annual Park(ing) Day Walk to each new "park" on Sept. 21 at noon beginning at the UW Tacoma.

More information is attached and available at www.downtownonthego.orghttp://www.downtownonthego.org/.  Contact us at 253-682-1734 or dotg@tacomachamber.orgmailto:%20dotg@tacomachamber.org to reserve your spot.
