This summer, I'm part of a week long workshop on "Self-Regulation in a
Digital World" to be held at the Leibniz Science Campus Tübingen, Germany.
Please consider applying, accommodation and lodging are covered for all
participants (sorry, you still need to get to Germany on your own). I have
attached an information flyer. The deadline for applications is May 16.
The summer school will be held August, 4 - 8, 2014 in the Black Forest,
Germany. The Leibniz Science Campus is an interdisciplinary research
network initiated by the Knowledge Media Research Center along with the
University of Tübingen. The Summer School addresses empirically oriented
PhD students and post-doctoral researchers within three years after
completion of their dissertation in the social sciences (e.g.,
communication, information studies, sociology, psychology) dealing with
questions in the field of digital media.
Across three keynote talks and three different workshop tracks the Summer
School on "Self-Regulation in a Digital World" provides a place to explore,
discuss, reflect, share ideas and gain insights into the complex interplay
of self-regulation and external regulation in a digital world.
Keynote Speakers:
- Phil Winne, Simon Fraser University, Canada
- Malte Friese, Saarland University, Germany
- Sriram Kalyanaraman, University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, USA
Track Leaders:
Track I: Vincent Aleven, Carnegie Mellon University, USA
"How can intelligent tutoring systems support the learning of
self-regulated learning?"
Track II: Denise de Ridder, Utrecht University, The Netherlands
"Digital Nudges"
Track III: Keith Hampton, Rutgers University, USA
