This year my wife and I will fleet captains for our boat club in charge of
several rendezvous this summer. I am looking to introduce some new and
different activities that we can do as a group. In the past we've had
dinghy cruises and volleyball tournaments. We've chipped floating golf
balls at a floating ring in the marina as well as other games with and
without alcohol. I would appreciate any suggestions from you fleet captains
as well as rendezvous participants that know of activities that you found
particularly fun and/or interesting.
TIA

We have dinghy poker runs around here. Take your dinghy and get a card at
each of five locations, then meet somewhere to see who has the best hand for
prizes. Some locations are land based docks, and some are anchored boats.
However, the real story is that it's just one big, long water fight. Not
only are the dinks equipped with water balloons, super squirters, and in
some cases, 12V washdown pumps and hoses, but so are the stops! Everybody
gets soaked and has a great time. Needless to say, this is a summer
activity!

We do a dinghy poker run where you get a Margarita at every stop. Makes for
some fun dinghy handling. We also do a rowing blind dinghy race, where two
people are in the dinghy, with the one rowing blind-folded and the other
person providing the steering instructions.

Could also make for a VERY expensive dink ride. At least here in Tampa bay where they are not hesitant to give out BUIs even in dinks (although not enough in my estimation). Perhaps I am too old school (damn, hurts to say that at 48) but I would hope as a list we don't advocate drinking and operating motor vehicles.
