My bad,  I ignored the different thread angles, but for a thread to
engage, the thread angle has far less impact than the correct pitch - it
is of course completely wrong from an engineering perspective - but
fixing a toy and breathing new life into it is more rewarding, even if
the sloppy fit results in premature failure, because we can always make
another..

None of the threads I use precisely conform to the standards in terms of
tip and root radii and FDM processes will never give a true thread form,
cutting threads and gears to conform to the standards is a whole new
artform, [having working in a gear machining shop in the early 80's]. 
Stuff we take for granted in every automotive gearbox.
