Forecast
Weather:
Today started off with thunder storms until mid morning, impeding raptor
movement and its respective observation. Count resumed during mid morning
with alternating periods of rainfall. Afternoon cleared up but consistent
south-westerly became strong towards the afternoon. Temperatures remained
stable at around mid 10's C.
Raptor Observations:
Thunderstorms and rainfall likely impeded raptor movement with low count
day observed for all raptors. Turkey Vultures only moved during clear
periods with a count of 570. Sharpies were very low at only 40. Buteo
movement was present but also low with one Shoulder and 16 Red-tails. Only
1 Kestrel seen today.
Non-raptor Observations:
Rainfall also brought a slow day for non-raptors with a lack of songbirds
being present. Marsh count remains the same as previous days. Significantly
reduced movements of blackbirds and Blue Jays (1140) were reported today.
Crow count was also lower at 133. Two Monarchs were observed.

Predictions:
Tomorrow it is expected to clear up with partly cloudy skies and a
consistent north-westerly wind, although temperatures are expected to be
low hovering at around 10 degrees C. Hopefully the north-westerly winds
will reboot raptor movements, especially for buteos and maybe a Golden
Eagle.
