Thanks for the heads up, Kevin.

The Clearwater festival is not to be missed. The best anchorage is in
the bay just north of Croton Point (sometimes listed as Teller's Point
on the older charts). The bay is protected from most winds, about 8'
deep, with a hard sand bottom. Probably the best anchorage on the
Hudson River. The south side of the bay, while attractive, is less than
4' deep. If you anchor on the north side you can dinghy into the beach
without trouble. If you are diffident about anchoring out, the very
good Half Moon Bay marina is in the north bay. Don't cut too close to
Croton Point for either anchorage since there are underwater rock
ledges extending about 50 yards from each end of the point. If you
want, you can dinghy onto the Croton town dock, about 1/2 mile, to
partake of the pleasures of Croton. There are several very good
restaurants, pizza parlors, a good delicatessen, a hardware store with
a big inventory of marine parts, and a nearby supermarket. See "The
Hudson River Guide" for details. If you don't have a copy, I send a PFD
file on request.

"Croton on the Hudson-will be the Location of the Clearwater Festival
next weekend.
The Hudson River Sloop CLEARWATER is celebrating its 35th year-a
glorious history of introducing many to boating, sailing and the water
world we float upon.
Much to do and play with. Anchorage seems normal from the charts-Why
not? Gather ye loopers while ye may?
