Clearing in.

Bob talks about the enjoyment of clearing in...
Sometimes it is fun, sometimes it is not.
I waited three days to clear out of Aculupco,
and neither my agent, nor the port office ever
found the port captain, so I left Mexico without
clearing out.
I thought this would be a problem in Panama,
it was not, they said "you did not clear out
of Mexico", I mentioned I waited three days
for the Port Captain and left, and they said
"ah yes" and that was that.  I could tell I
was not the first with that problem!
So the NAR freeing me from that hassle was nice.
I still met with the officals or agent, just
they came to either the Marina or the boat.
Do not forgot that there are lots of locals to meet.
Also it is clear that today there are far more
cruisiers, and the officals clear in multiple
boats everyday, something that was probably
not as true when Bob did his cruising.
As example was in the Panama Canal.  We took a
taxi to see the canal from above... and he
asked what kind of boat we came in, I said
Nordhavn and then he listed 3 or 4 other
Nordhavn owners he had recently given rides
to including Uno Mas who we met on the NAR.
